Dr. Joanne Curry

Joanne has more than 30 years of experience across a wide range of disciplines, both in Australia and overseas, including healthcare, banking, IT, education and government. Specialising in workflow optimisation, business process improvement and digital transformation readiness, she has conducted and managed large-scale improvement/transformation projects involving complex organisational cultures with both technical and business stakeholders. Using various methods and technologies, Joanne has managed improvement projects for more than 18 years.

Joanne has an innate ability to quickly understand her clients, their environment and key pain points and rapidly develops solid and meaningful client working relationships. This has resulted in comprehensive solutions that deliver operationally feasible outcomes that meet overall organisational strategies and are well supported by operational and IT stakeholders alike. She has excellent analytical skills combined with a keen capability to think creatively, postulating previously unconsidered options.

Joanne has also spent several years in the Tertiary sector conducting research and running ‘Industry Experience’ units for final-year ICT students. This exposure to fresh, aspiring minds provided unparalleled opportunities to coach and mentor students from many cultures, backgrounds and experiences. She maintains her links with up-and-coming young professionals through her ongoing Adjunct Associate Professor roles with two leading Australian Universities.

Joanne has an Advanced Certificate in Management, a Master of Computing majoring in IT and a PhD in Health Informatics.

Across her career, Joanne has been drawn to coaching and mentoring as a natural part of her character. She gets immense intrinsic satisfaction from sharing her experiences (good and bad) and varied viewpoints on both a business and personal dimension. Her involvement with students and staff at all levels allows her to move seamlessly between management, operational and technical scenarios, making her an ideal coach or mentor for those wanting an optimal work-life balance.
